Why do we need to test the aluminum alloy die-casting mold first after it is opened

  Generally, before the production of aluminum alloy die-casting, a trial mold is conducted on the pre made aluminum alloy die-casting mold. So why do we need to test the mold first? Mainly because trial molding can bring the following benefits:

  1、 Optimize the trial and process parameters of die-casting molds

  The main purpose of trial molding is to find optimized process parameters and modification plans for die-casting molds. It is required that even if there are changes in materials, machine settings, or environmental factors, the die-casting molds can still be stably and continuously produced in batches of qualified products, maximizing the adaptability of die-casting molds, rather than just obtaining a few good trial mold samples.

  2、 Identify the problems with die-casting molds

  The die-casting molds manufactured by aluminum alloy die-casting factories are expected to be adaptable (i.e. with wide forming parameters or process conditions). However, due to inadequate design considerations or inadequate processing during the production process, problems such as dimensional differences, poor local transitions, and unsuitable structures often occur, resulting in unqualified castings or mold trial production. Trial molding is a simple, direct, and effective method to identify problems with die-casting molds.

  3、 Identify the forming conditions

  During the testing process of die-casting molds, die-casting mold testers can find a suitable set of process data, which can be used as the default values for setting machine parameters, and adjust the process conditions for mass production of die-casting molds based on this set of data.

  4、 Verify CAE assisted design to improve subsequent work efficiency

  CAE analysis software is the result of computer simulation and calculation of real machine specifications, real alloy properties, and real external environment. According to the simulation results, the die casting mold designers made corresponding modifications to the design of the die casting mold; The analysis data can be directly used as input, and the analysis data can be directly used as preset values. Die casting mold testers can check and analyze whether there are defects in the design of die casting molds. Comparative analysis of trial mold defects and simulation results to provide a basis for subsequent process parameter settings.
