How to solve the problem of casting cracking in die-casting factories

2024-01-08 hits:0 source:News

  1. In terms of processing:

  (1) Excessive processing pressure, too fast speed, more material filling, injection, and long holding time can all cause excessive internal stress and cracking.

  (2) Adjust the mold opening speed and pressure to prevent rapid and forceful pulling of parts from causing demolding cracking.

  (3) Adjust the mold temperature appropriately to make the parts easy to demold.

  (4) Use release agents appropriately and pay attention to regularly eliminating substances such as mist attached to the mold surface.

  (5) Residual stress in aluminum alloy die castings can be eliminated by immediately performing annealing heat treatment after forming to reduce the generation of cracks and eliminate internal stress.

  2. In terms of aluminum alloy die-casting molds:

  (1) Ejection should be balanced, such as sufficient number and cross-sectional area of ejector rods, sufficient demolding slope, and smooth enough cavity surface, in order to prevent cracking caused by residual stress concentration during ejection due to external forces.

  (2) The structure of aluminum alloy die castings should not be too thin, and the transition part should be rounded as much as possible to avoid stress concentration caused by sharp corners and chamfers.

  (3) Appropriate demolding inlet channels should be set up for deep bottom aluminum alloy die castings to prevent the formation of vacuum negative pressure.

  (4) The main channel is sufficient to allow the sprue material to be demolded before it can solidify, making it easier to demold.

  (5) The connection between the main channel liner and the nozzle should prevent the dragging of cold and hard materials, which may cause the aluminum alloy die casting to stick to the fixed mold.

  3. In terms of aluminum alloy die-casting raw materials:

  (1) The high content of recycled material results in low strength of aluminum alloy die castings.

  (2) Excessive humidity can cause some plastics to react chemically with water vapor, reducing their strength and resulting in ejection cracking.

  (3) The aluminum alloy die casting raw material itself is not suitable for the environment being processed or has poor quality, and contamination can cause cracking.
