The occurrence of various defects and problems in die-casting parts is an essential step for die-casting factories to cast die-casting parts, and flow marks are one of the common problems in castings.
Flow marks are the flow marks formed by two strands of metal liquid filling the mold cavity asynchronously. When the temperature at the front of the molten soup is too low, traces will appear when stacked. Unlike cold separations, cold separations are the result of two strands of metal liquid conflicting and not melting in a three-dimensional space. Flow marks are in the form of a flat surface. After the first strand of metal liquid cools down, there is no result of fusion with the previous strand of metal liquid when the second strand of metal liquid covers it. When touched by hand, obvious downward concave patterns can be felt, and flow marks can be removed by polishing. The reason for the appearance of flow marks is due to the low temperature of the mold, which has not reached the temperature of metal liquid fusion, or the result of excessive coating materials. To prevent the occurrence of flow marks, the method is to adjust the temperature of the mold, increase the overflow groove, use thin and uniform coating, check and judge whether the mold cavity is easy to fill, adjust the position and section of the inner gate, change the filling mode, shorten the filling time, and increase the melting temperature.
