Aluminum alloy die castings often encounter various problems during production due to improper operation and material selection errors, among which mesh burrs are one type. So next, we will learn about the defect of mesh burrs in die castings.
Mesh burrs refer to the protrusions or depressions on the surface of die-casting parts, similar to mesh hair, including mesh marks, mesh patterns, and cracking burrs, mainly manifested as protrusions and metal spikes. Mesh burrs will expand due to an increase in the number of die-casting cycles. The reason for the formation of mesh burrs is due to incorrect material selection or improper heat treatment process of the die casting mold, excessive surface roughness of the mold, cracks on the surface of the die casting mold, high pouring temperature, obvious alternation of cold and hot in the die casting mold, etc. The correct treatment method is to correctly select the material and heat treatment process of the die casting mold, polish the surface of the die casting mold, perform oxidation treatment, etc. to reduce surface roughness, and the pouring temperature should not be too high. Preheating of the die casting mold is also necessary.
The root cause of problems with aluminum alloy die castings is ultimately due to the lack of experience of the operators, and the quality of the produced die castings is guaranteed.
