Zinc alloy die-casting molds are one of the very important tools in the die-casting production process. So the heat treatment of die-casting molds plays a very important role in controlling the quality of zinc alloy die-casting. To avoid making big mistakes during the heat treatment process of zinc alloy die-casting molds, the following four points must be noted:
(1) Spheroidization annealing should be carried out before the mold has cooled to room temperature;
(2) Before precision machining, stress tempering should be carried out, and the modulation treatment should be arranged after rough machining and before precision machining. The hardness should be controlled between 25-32HRC to avoid machining difficulties;
(3) During quenching, close attention should be paid to the critical points Ac1 and Ac3 of the steel, as well as the holding time, to avoid coarsening of austenite;
(4) During tempering, maintain a temperature of 20mm per hour for three times. If nitriding is required, only two tempering cycles are needed; After the current heat treatment process is completed, the mold can be cooled to the point where it can be touched by hand before proceeding to the next heat treatment process.
