  Die casting parts are formed by liquid metal through a die-casting machine in a die-casting mold. As die-casting is a high-pressure and high-speed process, the pushing speed of the liquid metal into the sprue can reach tens of meters per second. Therefore, during the filling process, turbulence, spraying, and even local atomization may occur, resulting in "poor breathing" and other phenomena in the die-casting parts.

  Due to the fast filling process, some of the air is trapped by the molten metal and fills the mold cavity before it can escape, resulting in the formation of hole defects inside the die-casting part. This is a characteristic of the die-casting process itself and cannot be completely avoided, but it can be greatly reduced through the design of the die-casting mold.

  The overflow system of die-casting molds can help the gas flow out of the cavity in die-casting engineering, thereby improving the quality of die-casting parts. The overflow system is generally set at the metal liquid impact position, the latest filling position, the vortex position, the confluence position, the difficult to fill position, etc., which can effectively discharge gas and reduce hole defects in die-casting parts.
