The purpose of improving the service life of zinc alloy die-casting molds
For many zinc alloy die-casting manufacturers, the lifespan of zinc alloy die-casting molds is not only to gain customer trust and satisfaction, but also an important indicator for considering mold quality. So improving the lifespan of zinc alloy die-casting molds is a very important matter. So how to make the service life of zinc alloy die-casting molds longer? Below are some measures to improve the service life of zinc alloy die-casting molds.
1. Zinc alloy die-casting molds should be reasonable. If the structural design of zinc alloy die-casting parts is not reasonable, it can easily lead to thin sections in the mold, which can become the root cause of fracture. The design of zinc alloy die-casting molds should fully consider the thermal balance of the mold to maintain a stable and reasonable working temperature. Because the temperature at the equilibrium point is crucial for stable production, the quality and productivity of castings largely depend on the thermal control capability of the mold. The position, shape, diameter, temperature, and flow rate of the cooling water pipe have a significant impact on the temperature distribution of the mold, thereby affecting its lifespan. If the cooling water pipe is close to the surface of the mold, it can improve the thermal fatigue life of the mold, but it will increase the tensile stress on the inner surface of the water pipe.
2. Adopting a reasonable manufacturing process and manufacturing techniques can effectively extend the service life of die-casting molds. Because if the manufacturing process is not reasonable, the mold will generate frictional heat during the grinding process due to the lack of sharpness of the grinding wheel, causing surface grinding cracks and reducing the service life of the mold.
