  Vacuum pressure die-casting

Vacuum pressure die-casting is an advanced die-casting process developed on the basis of traditional pressure die-casting.

In the process of vacuum pressure die-casting, in addition to using high pressure to hydraulic the metal into the mold cavity, a vacuum environment is also created inside the mold cavity. By using a special vacuum system, the air inside the mold cavity is extracted before die-casting to minimize the pressure inside the cavity. In this way, when the molten metal is pressed into the mold under high pressure, the involvement of gas can be minimized to the greatest extent possible. From the perspective of equipment composition, in addition to conventional pressure die-casting machine components, an efficient vacuum system is also required, including vacuum pumps, vacuum pipelines, and vacuum valves.

The advantages of this process are very obvious. Firstly, due to the vacuum environment inside the mold cavity, defects such as porosity inside the casting are greatly reduced, improving the density and mechanical properties of the casting. For example, for some key components in the aerospace industry, castings produced by vacuum pressure die-casting can better meet the requirements of high strength and high reliability. Secondly, it has improved the surface quality of the castings to a certain extent, making the surface smoother and smoother.

However, the equipment cost for vacuum pressure die-casting is relatively high, requiring not only high-quality pressure die-casting machines but also high-performance vacuum equipment, which increases the initial investment cost. Moreover, the maintenance and operation of vacuum systems also require certain technical and cost investments.
