Why can't die-casting molds be compatible with plastic molds
Die casting molds are a necessary condition for producing die castings, directly affecting the quality of the castings. If a die casting factory can make good die casting molds, then their products must be very good. Die casting molds have a "good brother", which is plastic molds. The two have similar structures and working methods, so many people wonder if die casting molds and plastic molds can be shared?
After all, opening a set of molds is very expensive. If they can be shared, it can save a lot of money. So, can die-casting molds and plastic molds be shared? The answer is no. Although die-casting molds have many similarities with plastic molds, there are also many differences. Firstly, there are differences in materials. The temperature of molten metal is much higher than that of plastic, so the material used to make die-casting molds is specialized heat-resistant steel; Secondly, there are differences in structure because the impact force generated by pouring molten metal is much higher than that of plastic injection molding. In order to prevent mold deformation, the sprue sleeve of the die-casting mold is much thicker, and the template is also thicker.
