In the process of customizing die castings, general customers will require aluminum alloy die casting factories to provide salt spray test reports to test the corrosion resistance of products that are exposed to outdoor environments or used in acidic or alkaline environments for years. Because salt spray corrosion is a common and most destructive form of atmospheric corrosion, the presence of oxygen, humidity, temperature changes, and pollutants in the atmosphere constitute the relevant corrosion components and factors. So what kind of product is suitable for salt spray testing?
The methods of salt spray testing are generally divided into three categories: neutral salt spray testing, acetate spray testing, and copper salt accelerated acetate spray testing. Due to the strong destructive nature of salt spray testing, we will choose different testing methods for different products and surface treatment processes.
Neutral salt spray test: The settling rate of salt spray is between 1-2ml/80cm ². h. Among the three, the corrosion rate is the slowest and suitable for surface treatments such as electrogalvanizing, hot-dip galvanizing, and Dacromet. Copy
Acetate spray test: The corrosion rate is about three times that of neutral salt spray test; Suitable for products with final passivation film, such as galvanizing;
Copper salt accelerated acetate spray test: The corrosion rate is about 8 times that of neutral salt spray test; Suitable for the following surface treatments: electroplated copper. Nickel. Chromium.
