  In the process of die-casting production, the role of die-casting molds cannot be underestimated. Therefore, in the production process, the problems that often occur in molds must be taken seriously. Today, let's briefly introduce the solutions to prevent the cracking problem of die-casting molds!

  1. The heat treatment requirements for the forming parts of the die-casting mold (moving, fixed mold core, and core) must ensure that the hardness is between HRC43 and 48 (materials can be SKD61 or 8407)

  2. The mold should undergo sufficient preheating before die-casting production, and its function is as follows:

  A achieves a good thermal balance in the mold, ensures uniform solidification speed of the casting, and facilitates pressure transfer

  B maintains the fluidity of the die cast alloy during filling, has good formability, and improves the surface quality of the casting

  Reduce early production defects, improve die-casting productivity, reduce mold thermal alternating stress, and improve mold service life

  3. After a period of production, the accumulation of thermal stress in the new mold is the direct cause of cracking in the mold core. To reduce thermal stress, the mold core and slider after a certain period of production should undergo tempering treatment to eliminate thermal stress

  By doing the above three points well, the cracking problem of die-casting molds is less likely to occur during the production process, and it can also improve the service life of die-casting molds, thereby improving product production efficiency!
