ADC12 aluminum alloy is a commonly used grade for aluminum alloy die-casting parts and is widely used for customization of various aluminum alloy die-casting parts, especially automotive parts, consumer electronics products, radiators, covers, brackets, etc. So, what are the characteristics of ADC12 being widely used in various fields?
1. Analysis of ADC12 aluminum alloy material content
ADC12 aluminum alloy is composed of aluminum (Al), copper (Cu) 1.5-3.5, silicon (Si) 9.6-12.0, magnesium (Mg) ≤ 0.3, zinc (Zn) ≤ 1.0, iron (Fe) ≤ 1.3, manganese (Mn) ≤ 0.5, nickel (Ni) ≤ 0.5, tin (Sn) ≤ 0.2, calcium (Ca) ≤ 200ppm, lead (Pb) ≤ 0.1, cadmium (Cd) ≤ 0.005, all of which are metal elements. Among them, we can see that ADC12 contains more silicon, copper, and aluminum materials, so it is also known as AI-SI-CU alloy. Therefore, in aluminum alloy compression, There are still many limitations in the surface treatment of castings.
2. Good die-casting performance
ADC12, due to its good formability in die casting, is suitable for making thin castings
3. Poor thermal conductivity
ADC12 aluminum alloy has poor thermal conductivity (about 96W/m.K). Currently, AA1070 aluminum is widely used as a die-casting material in China, with a thermal conductivity of around 200W/m.K and good heat dissipation effect. Therefore, it is widely used in the manufacturing of various radiator shells.
