Zinc alloy die castings require electroplating processing from raw materials to finished products. This process is not only a very good surface treatment process, but also a preparation process for many special treatment processes. By electroplating different anode metals, zinc alloy die castings can obtain different characteristics, such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. Before electroplating processing, zinc alloy die castings must undergo some inspections
Due to the poor chemical stability of zinc alloy, it is prone to corrosion in acidic and alkaline solutions, and there are defects such as bubbles, cracks, and pinholes in the substrate during die casting. Therefore, electroplating zinc alloy die castings is more difficult than electroplating other substrates. In order to achieve better electroplating results, before electroplating, the surface of zinc alloy die castings is checked for defects such as gates, flash edges, horizontal lines, burrs, and nodules that are difficult to mechanically polish or level and may cause quality problems in electroplating. This can reduce the repair rate in electroplating and lower production costs.
